Colombia-based Bulgarian author Doris Dukova took part in the 35th edition of the Bogota International Book Fair, presenting her debut book The Dark Side of Success. The event was hosted in the University Publications Pavilion, organized by the Agrarian University of Colombia. Dukova has lived in Bogota for 28 years.
Dukova, founder of the Bulgarian-Colombian Foundation Alianza, shared that her presentation drew interest thanks to its creative approach, which engaged both invited guests and random visitors. The event also featured a live virtual connection with representatives from the University of Santander in Cucuta, and was streamed on Facebook and Instagram, creating what Dukova described as a "true transmedia experience" that immersed the audience in the book’s 14 personal stories.
The Dark Side of Success, which is currently published in Spanish, with plans for Bulgarian and English editions, is a collection of 14 short stories, based on first-person experiences of the challenges and efforts required to achieve personal and professional success while living abroad.
This year’s book fair welcomed over 500 publishers from 24 countries, according to official statistics.
