Students nationwide will enhance their financial literacy during Global Money Week, taking place from March 16 to 22. This year’s initiative focuses on personal finances, informed decision-making, and developing sustainable financial habits among young people, said the Ministry of Education and Science on its website.

As part of the campaign, schools will host a variety of educational activities, including open lessons, meetings with experts, discussions, practical simulations, and interactive exercises aimed at improving students’ financial literacy.

The Global Money Week initiative is organized by the International Network on Financial Education under the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and is implemented in over 170 countries worldwide.

The goal of the initiative is to encourage young people to develop skills from an early age for responsible money management, future planning, and making informed financial decisions, Ministry notes.

In Bulgaria, the events are coordinated by Junior Achievement Bulgaria.
