The Munchensko Horce folk dance club in Munich, Germany, will perform at the 11th Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance travelling folklore festival. The festival will take place in BMW Park in Munich, Germany, from May 15 to 17.

The group will present some of the best pieces from its repertoire. The dance Kopachka [digger] will make its debut on the Munich stage, while the programme will also include Kopanitsa, choreographed by Kiril Haralampiev, the club’s founder and leader Georgi Stoyanov said.

According to Stoyanov, Kopanitsa symbolizes the rhythm of love, combining fast steps, pauses and moments of tension that ultimately come together in harmony.

The group is expected to include around 20 dancers, while about 60 guests, both children and adults, are expected to attend the performances.

Stoyanov also said the Munchensko Horce dance club has launched a video library featuring the traditional horo dances taught and performed by the group.

The Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance travelling festival is organized by and for amateur folklore ensembles performing outside Bulgaria. The initiative was launched by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the first edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. More than 100 dance ensembles and over 4,000 guests are expected at the 11th edition in Munich in May. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is the official media partner of the event and will present all participants.
