A significant increase in the number of foreign tourists over the past year has been reported by Grand Hotel Millennium Sofia, according to the hotel’s team.

The profile of guests is diverse - from business travelers from Bulgaria and abroad to local residents who regularly visit the centre. According to the hotel, this diversity is key to building Sofia’s identity as a wellness destination.

The Millennium SPA and Wellness Centre at the Grand Hotel Millennium Sofia is highlighted as one of the most notable examples of an urban space offering a comprehensive philosophy of balance and recovery. At its core lies the concept of the five elements - water, fire, air, earth, and ether - which serves as the organizing principle shaping the center’s architecture, atmosphere, and therapeutic approach.

The SPA center covers an area of 3,600 sq. m, a scale that is rarely found in urban settings, and offers a wide range of treatments. One of the innovative experiences introduced in Sofia by the Millennium SPA and Wellness Centre at the Grand Hotel Millennium Sofia is the “sea bath” - a space where the air is enriched with magnesium, iodine, salt, oxygen, and negative ions, the team noted.

The centre also features a natural salt room, herbal sauna, water beds, tepidarium, adventure showers, a health trail, and more. One of its strongest positioning elements is its therapeutic menu, which follows a philosophy of personalized experience.

In partnership with the French skincare brand Anne Semonin and the Japanese brand Forlle’d, the centre creates signature rituals that are not offered elsewhere in Bulgaria, according to the team.

The guiding principle is personalization, and guests are assisted by highly qualified therapists who assess not only immediate needs but also long-term recovery goals such as stress reduction, posture improvement, metabolic activation, and recovery after physical strain. The specialists undergo regular training, certification programmes, and specialized courses, aimed at ensuring high-quality treatments.

The hotel also features the Millennium Milestone congress center, which includes 14 modern, fully equipped multifunctional halls. This space makes the property a natural choice for international conferences, corporate events, and private celebrations.

The Millennium SPA and Wellness Centre is building a new model of urban wellness that goes beyond the standard understanding of a spa. The hotel noted that this philosophy is changing the way Sofia is perceived as a wellness destination and is setting a new standard for experience.
