The last group of participants in the 31st National Antarctic Expedition will return on Sunday, March 19, at Sofia Airport, on a flight from Rome, said its leader Prof. Hristo Pimpirev.
These are logisticians Alexander Bogdev, Alexander Velichkov, Boris Yordanov, Jordan Todorov, Marcho Paunov, Milcho Dundakov and Pavel Grigorov and scientists Assoc. Prof. Boris Tsankov, Assoc. Prof. Raina Hristova and Dr. Vasil Gurev.
The expedition ended on March 5, and the polar explorers were transported by RSV 421. From there, they continued with regular flights of civil aircraft to Bulgaria.
RSV 421 has now reached the Argentine port of Mar del Plata, from where, after a short stop for refuelling and restocking, it will continue its voyage to Bulgaria, expected to arrive in Varna at the end of April.
