Wine is the best way to pause time and capture it in a bottle, Spanish winemaker and owner of the Bodegas Valdelana winery Juan Jesus Valdelana said on Tuesday, Day Two of the 9th UN Tourism Global Conference on Wine Tourism in Plovdiv.

Valdelana first presented a video telling the story of creation and development of the winery, and shared practices that they apply in developing wine tourism and attracting consumers. "We are dedicated to people and to wine and to everything we produce. There is nothing better than bringing pleasure and joy to someone. What we want to create is a special feeling and memory that will stay with you," he emphasized.

Francisco Bragoni, Hospitality and Wine Tourism Manager at Bodegas Salentein, Argentina, said people are the most important part of their winery, as they are the ambassadors of their brand. "Each one of the people who visit us creates an unforgettable experience and experience with our brand," he said, adding that the most important thing for them is their attitude towards people and consumers.

Jorge Alves, General Manager of Quanta Terra Douro, shared the practices of the winery and emphasized the importance of organizing exhibitions, poetry recitals and concerts. The winery also plans to present a series of limited edition bottles, painted by hand. "The whole ecosystem of winemaking and wine tourism is very complex and the community is always present in it," he said.

The 9th UN Tourism Global Conference on Wine Tourism is themed "The Art of Wine Tourism". It takes place on October 6 and 7, and highlights the multi-faceted relationship between wine tourism and the arts, positioning both as vital tools for protecting heritage, promoting creativity and enhancing the attractiveness of rural and wine-producing destinations. Participants engage with policy makers, representatives of tourist destinations, entrepreneurs, researchers and specialists from around the world.
