site.btaForeign Ministry Warns of Italian Air Transport General Strike on Friday

The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry has issued an advisory that Italy’s air transport sector will hold a general strike on Friday, and delays and cancellations of domestic and international flights are possible, as well as disruptions to ground services, especially at Milan's Malpensa and Linate airports, where local protests are also planned.
To minimize inconvenience for travelers, the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) has issued instructions that all flights must be operated between 7 and 10 am and 6 and 9 pm. Humanitarian, medical, and government flights are excluded from the strike action, the Ministry added.
The Ministry advises Bulgarian citizens residing in Italy either short-term or long-term, and those planning to travel by air on Friday to check in advance the information about their flights.
If assistance is needed, Bulgarian citizens in Italy can contact the Bulgarian diplomatic and consular representations in the country, and more information can be found here.
At the end of June, a transport strike organized by trade unions caused serious disruptions in Italy, with many trains in Rome being halted.
