Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov told journalists on Monday, summing up the results of his two-day official visit to Moldova, that the two states share the same values, of democracy, market economy and society’s prosperity, which are key to the development of bilateral relations and trade ties. Zhelyazkov added that the two countries can cooperate in areas such as infrastructure development, transport and energy connectivity.

On the second day of his visit, Zhelyazkov held meetings with Moldovan Parliament President Igor Grosu and with the country's President Maia Sandu

"We share the same views on the way the Kremlin influences democratic processes. Against the Republic of Moldova on its path to European integration, and Bulgaria's path as an EU Member State. The tactics are similar, relating to obstruction of the normal functioning of institutions and the impact on citizens' voting rights, which is particularly sensitive for Moldova. And other forms of hybrid influence and disruption of the normal political process in Member States, especially those in the Southeastern and Eastern parts of the EU, as well as the Eastern flank of NATO. This impact is also targeted at the Bulgarian community. Concerns in this direction were shared. Most importantly, we share the same values," the prime minister said.

On Sunday, Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev and Moldovan Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun signed the agreement to transfer ownership of the premises of the former Taraclia University to the branch of the Taraclia branch of Angel Kanchev University of Ruse. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of the Prime Ministers of both countries, Rosen Zhelyazkov and Dorin Recean.

Prime Minister Zhelyazkov pointed out that this shows the trust between the two countries. He confirmed that “the government will propose a programme for children from Taraclia to get to know Bulgaria, a kind of Bulgarian Erasmus.”

Zhelyazkov's visit to Moldova ended on Monday with the laying of a wreath at the monument of Stephan the Great, a prominent ruler of Moldova, considered a national hero and a symbol of the country's independence and statehood.
