National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova cabled condolences to Bundestag President Barbel Bass over the tragedy in Magdeburg, where a car crashed into the Christmas market on Friday, Parliament's press office said on Saturday. In her letter, she expresses her deep sympathy for the relatives of the victims and hopes for a speedy recovery of the injured.
"On the eve of Christmas, when the European community unites around its values and belief in goodness, we are called to show even more solidarity and unity against any manifestation of violence and anti-humanism," Kiselova writes.
She expresses her conviction that the citizens of both countries stand united against the senseless destruction of lives and violence against innocent civilians. "I trust that we will be even more united in our quest for freedom, justice and peace," the Parliament Chair says.
President Rumen Radev also condemned the attack in the German city of Magdeburg, which took at least five lives and injured over 200 people.
