Odesa was attacked by Russian drones in several waves from the waters of the Black Sea on New Year’s Eve, Odesa City Military Administration, Serhii Lysak said on Telegram.

According to him, debris from intercepted unmanned aerial vehicles fell in the city, resulting in fires.

Residential apartment buildings were damaged.

All fires were extinguished in a timely manner by emergency crews, Lysak added.

Bulgarians in the Odesa region number over 150,000 and are the third largest ethnic group, according to the latest official census in Ukraine.

In the city of Odesa itself, 50,000–60,000 Bulgarians live. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolhrad, Izmail, and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
