Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev took part in a Meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Brussels on Wednesday. Ministers met at a key point of international efforts to bring Russia's war against Ukraine to an end, Georgiev's Ministry said in a press release.
Addressing the event, Georgiev stressed Bulgaria's continued commitment to support for Ukraine because "this is support for international legal order and for the principle that might does not make right."
In his statement, the chief Bulgarian diplomat stressed the need of consistency and strategic resilience in the context of a complicated international situation. "The present historic moment requires firmness, responsibility and a clear commitment to our common values and securities," he pointed out.
He welcomed the active diplomatic efforts towards achieving a cessation of hostilities and developing a framework for lasting peace. "Diplomatic initiatives must clearly reflect the positions of Ukraine and Europe, so that peace can not only be achieved but be just and durable," Georgiev said.
