The weather conditions for tourism in the mountains are poor, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross reported to BTA on Wednesday.

It is cloudy in the mountains, temperatures are between 5C and 7C, there is a light wind, and rain showers are expected.

Mountain rescuers provided assistance on Tuesday afternoon to a tourist with a sprained ankle.

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology reported cloudy weather in the mountains, with short-term rain showers, and thunderstorms in several places in the mountains in Western Bulgaria, and a moderate to strong southwesterly wind. Highs at 1,200m will be around 17C, 10C at 2000m.
