Youth and Sports Minister Dimitar Iliev held a working meeting with the President of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV), Aleksandar Boricic, and the President of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation, Lyubomir Ganev, the Sports Ministry reported here on Friday.
Among the highlights of the talks were the organization of two European junior championships in 2024 and the CEV coaching convention, which takes place in Sofia from 22nd to 24th September.
Minister Iliev wished success in the work of the European Volleyball Confederation. "Volleyball is one of the sports that offer many moral and physical qualities as well as a healthy lifestyle," Minister Iliev pointed out.
Aleksandar Boricic talked about the organization of the CEV coaching seminar, which is attended by more than 150 of the best volleyball coaches from all countries in Europe, as well as international speakers.
Ganev briefed the Minister on the upcoming events in volleyball and noted the understanding with which the Ministry of Youth and Sports responds to challenges in sport.
Minister Iliev said that his Ministry's leadership will continue to contribute to the development of volleyball. He said it is very important for Bulgaria to have strong team sports.
