Bulgaria has been recognized for its ability to develop tourism in its various aspects, Hisarya Mayor Iva Valcheva, said at a press conference, held here on Sunday, ahead of the 9th UN Tourism Global Conference on Wine Tourism, which will take place here on October 6 and 7.

Valcheva noted that this year Hisarya was accepted into the European Historic Thermal Towns Association, adding that this is not only an achievement for Hisarya but also a recognition of Bulgaria as a whole. "This conference demonstrates how a small country like Bulgaria can position itself on the global stage; how we are able to take part in global events, especially those focused on wine tourism," she said.

She pointed out that the participation of a large municipality like Plovdiv, alongside smaller ones like Hisarya and Chirpan, reflects good cooperation among institutions across different sectors, including wine tourism.

Mayor Valcheva said that hosting the conference is a major recognition for Bulgaria and a testament to the efforts of the Tourism Ministry and local authorities.
