site.btaBulgaria Showcases Its Tourism Potential at Tourism Expo Japan 2025

The Ministry of Tourism participated in the Tourism Expo Japan (TEJ) international tourism exhibition, which took place in Nagoya from September 25 to 28, the Ministry said Monday. Bulgaria was represented at the European Travel Commission (ETC) stand alongside other European destinations that are joining forces to present European tourism to the Japanese market.
TEJ is the most important tourism exhibition in Japan. It is aimed at both business visitors and journalists with a focus on business negotiations and networking, as well as a wider audience, providing opportunities for communication, advertising, and direct marketing.
To maximize reach and impact, ETC partnered with Japanese Association of Travel Agents to organize Europe - Japan Marketplace, an exclusive B2B event within the exhibition that provided an opportunity for meetings and partnership building between leading Japanese travel agents and European tour operators.
Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh said, as quoted in the press release: "Bulgaria's participation in Tourism Expo Japan 2025 is a strategic step towards expanding our presence in this distant market. Japanese tourists appreciate culture, history, and authentic experiences, and Bulgaria can offer all of this - from ancient traditions and a rich historical heritage to modern tourist infrastructure and unique nature. I am delighted that, together with our partners from the European Travel Commission, we have the opportunity to present our country as a destination with high added value and sustainable development."
