Haskovo will host the 36th Days of Japanese Culture from October 28-30 according to the municipality's press centre. The celebrations of Japan's arts, culture and traditions are organized by the Japanese Embassy in Sofia.

Events planned for the three days include exhibitions and lectures on topics such as “Ikebana in the Sogetsu style” and “Kimonos speak to us”. The third day will be dedicated to calligraphy. Visitors will have the opportunity to see their names written in Japanese calligraphy during this day.

"We have prepared sufficient space for the meetings at the Atanas Sharenkov City Art Gallery," said Tatyana Foreva, director of the exhibition hall, to BTA. She noted that one of the kimonos on display is of exceptional artistic value and is worth over USD 25,000.

Before Haskovo, the Days of Japanese Culture were hosted in the northwestern town of Vratsa, where they began on 21 October. The event was opened by Hadeaki Machida, the first secretary of the Japanese Embassy in Bulgaria.
