Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Bulgaria’s non-financial sector totalled EUR 33.861 billion at current prices as of December 31, 2024, according to preliminary data published by the National Statistical Institute on Friday. The largest share or EUR 14.432 billion was in industry, followed by services (trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, transport, storage and postal services, hospitality and restaurants) with EUR 7.785 billion.

FDI in the non-financial sector amounted to EUR 32.566 billion as of the end of 2023 and EUR 29.251 billion in 2022, also based on preliminary data.

In terms of structure, a notable shift in 2024 compared to 2023 was the increase in the industry share by 1.4 percentage points.
