The Bulgarian and Ukrainian chambers of commerce are working on a business forum in Sofia in October, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) announced on its website Wednesday.
President Tsvetan Simeonov discussed with his Ukrainian colleague, Gennadiy Chyzhykov, the opportunities for developing bilateral trade and economic relations between the two states. The President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry visited the BCCI. Volodymyr Dadasov, Vice-President of the Ukrainian-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also participated in the meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the upcoming Bulgarian-Ukrainian business forum.
The event will take place in Sofia and is a continuation of last year's bilateral forum. Chyzhykov said that potential sectors of mutual interest for Bulgarian and Ukrainian business include agriculture and the food industry, transport and logistics, and energy. Issues related to the preparation of the event and the participants from both countries were discussed.
Chyzhykov also provided information on the current situation in Ukraine, saying that the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry continues to perform its functions in support and protection of the interests of its members. Upcoming international initiatives and the upcoming 14th World Chambers Congress, which will take place on September 2-4 in Melbourne, Australia, were also discussed.
