Exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries between January and April 2025 decreased by 5.7% in comparison with the same period of 2024 and added up to BGN 9.5411 billion, the National Statistical Institute reported on Wednesday.

The main trade partners of Bulgaria were Turkiye, the US, Serbia, the Republic of North Macedonia, Algeria, Ukraine and China, which accounted for 53.4% of the exports to non-EU member states.

In April 2025, the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries decreased by 10.7% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to BGN 2.375 billion.

In the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries, distributed according to the Standard International Trade Classification, Bulgaria saw the most notable growth in 'Beverages and Tobacco' with 65.9%. The biggest drop was reported in the section 'Mineral fuel, lubricants and related materials' at 55.3%.

The imports of goods to Bulgaria from third countries between January and April 2025 increased by 13.8% in comparison with the same period of 2024 and added up to BGN 14.4167 billion. The largest amounts of goods imported from Turkiye, China, Serbia and Ukraine.

In April 2025 the imports of goods to Bulgaria from third countries increased by 6.8% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to BGN 3.6669 billion.

The foreign trade balance of Bulgaria with third countries between January and April 2025 was negative and added up to BGN 4.8756 billion.

In April 2025, Bulgaria's foreign trade balance with third countries was also negative and amounted to BGN 1.2919 billion.

Between January and April 2025, the total value of all goods exported from Bulgaria amounted to BGN 26.4984 billion, which is 4.8% less than the same period of the previous year.

In April 2025, the total exports of goods added up to BGN 6.5833 billion and decreased by 11.6% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.

The total value of all goods imported between January and April 2025 amounted to BGN 33.1085 billion, or 4.8% more than the same period of 2024.

In April 2025, the total imports of goods decreased by 1% compared to the same month of the previous year and added up to BGN 8.4602 billion.

The total foreign trade balance was negative for the January - April 2025 period and amounted to BGN 6.6101 billion.
