Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh met with German Ambassador to Bulgaria Irene Maria Plank, the Ministry of Tourism said in a press release on Thursday. The two officials discussed increasing the flow of German tourists to Bulgaria, the importance of this for the Bulgarian economy, and opportunities for deepening the partnership ahead of the upcoming summer season.

Borshosh emphasized that Germany is one of Bulgaria's traditional markets, with a long-standing presence and strong trust in the country as a travel destination. "German tourists are among our most loyal guests. It is a strategic priority for us to ensure good connectivity, high-quality tourism services, and experiences that exceed their expectations," the Minister said.

Plank confirmed the steady interest in Bulgaria and highlighted the important role of student exchanges and family visits, especially in the coastal regions.

During the meeting, specific measures to promote Bulgaria among the German audience were discussed. A key initiative is the Erlebe Bulgaria/ Experience Bulgaria forum, aimed at German-speaking audiences, which presents the country through authentic experiences, culture, and natural attractions. The event is supported by the Ministry of Tourism and organized in collaboration with Germany's leading tourism media, fvw|TravelTalk, and key partners from Bulgaria's tourism sector. The forum aims to attract new tourists and extend the summer season.

The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment to a stronger presence in the German market and the implementation of joint initiatives to enhance Bulgaria's image as a preferred destination for German tourists.
