Energy Minister Malinov to Attend Two Energy Forums in Thessaloniki

Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov will participate in two energy forums in Thessaloniki, his ministry said. 

One, the eighth Southeast Europe Energy Forum (SEEF), will take place on Friday. It is organized by the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Atlantic Council. The meeting will give a platform to politicians, regulators, financiers, scientists. Minister Malinov will speak at a round table on "Energy cooperation in the Southeast Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean region: a Turnpoint for EU’s Energy Security".

On September 8th, Minister Malinov will participate in the second MENA-Europe Future Energy Dialogue. The event will be hosted by Theodoros Skylakakis, Minister of Environment and Energy of the Hellenic Republic, and Dr. Robert Habeck, Vice-Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of the Federal Republic of Germany. The programme focuses on the development of interregional energy infrastructure to accelerate the energy transition.

Minister Malinov is expected to confer with Minister Habeck and a Joint Declaration on cooperation in the field of energy and climate action will be signed between the Bulgarian Ministry of Energy and the German Federal Ministry of Economy and Climate Action. Minister Malinov will also hold talks with his Greek counterpart Theodoros Skylakakis. The two will discuss issues of mutual interest for the development of the Bulgarian-Greek energy relations. A bilateral meeting with Abdulla Balalaa, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainability Affairs, of the United Arab Emirates, is also planned.
