Parliament Adopts Creation of Electronic Employment Register at First Reading

On Friday, the National Assembly adopted at first reading a bill to amend and supplement the Labour Code, tabled by Bozhidar Bozhanov (Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria) and a group of people's representatives.

The currently used employment record, and respectively the service record for civil servants, are an anachronism and create considerable administrative difficulties for both employees and employers, especially in cases of loss and the need to prove work experience, including through automatic calculation of work experience. The bill creates an electronic registry of employment, maintained by the National Revenue Agency, where all data from the employment book will be entered. Employees will have full access to their employment records, the bill's reasons state.
