Sales of new electric vehicles set a new record for market share in the European Union in 2022. First-time registrations of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) have continued to grow despite a general downturn in the EU car market, accounting for 12.1% of all new car sales last year, or up 3% points from 2021, according to the latest figures from the Association of European Automobile Manufacturers (ACEA) published on its website on Wednesday.
