site.btaTen Representatives of Bulgarian Tourism Industry Participate FITUR Fair in Madrid
Ten representatives of the Bulgaria tourism industry are presenting their products at one of the most important tourism exhibitions and the largest in Spain, the FITUR exhibition in Madrid, the Tourism Ministry. The Ministry has a stand of 100 sq m.
The show, the first for 2023, takes place on January 18-22 2023 and draws both professionals and members of the public.
At FITUR, a total of 8,360 exhibitors exhibit over an area of dozens of thousands of square meters and the event is expected to be visited by 82,000 members of the business community and some 30,000 members of the public.
The Bulgarian delegation is led by Deputy Tourism Minister Irena Georgieva. She met with UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili, Spanish Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism Reyes Maroto and the head of the UNWTO Regional Department for Europe Alessandra Priante. On the agenda were questions of mutual interest in relation to advancement in the area of tourism. Bulgaria will host the 68th session of the UNWTO Regional Department for Europe in late May and early June.
Within the framework of the FITUR International Tourism Fair held a bilateral meeting with Mariana Oleskiv, chairperson of Ukraine's State Agency for Tourism Development. The sides discussed the traditionally good relations between Bulgaria and Ukraine especially in the area of tourism, prospects for their development and advancement through building of contractual and legal framework in tourism.
Oleskiv said that she plans to visit Bulgaria within the 68th session of the UNWTO Regional Development for Europe, as the sides agreed unanimously to back each other's bids to the UNWTO Executive Council.
Bulgarian Ambassador to Spain Alexey Andreev attended the official opening and visited the national stand.
