The 23rd national conference with international participation on "The Knowledge Society and 21st Century Humanism" opens in Sofia on Friday. It is organized by the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies (ULSIT) and is hosted by the St St Cyril and Methodius National Library.

The annual event is dedicated to National Awakeners Day, marked on November 1.

In 2025, Bulgaria marks the 1170th anniversary of the creation of the Cyrillic alphabet and Slavic literature, the 1160th anniversary of the adoption of Christianity in Bulgaria, and the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the State Library Institute, today's ULSIT.

Vice President Iliana Iotova will participate in the opening of the forum.
