The DOCK International Documentary Historical Film Festival will take place in Burgas, on the Black Sea, from September 17 to 22, the organizers reported on their social media channels.
The competitive programme of the festival includes ten films. Accompanying screenings will be organized for the parallel programme. Participants will be evaluated by an international jury. The winning title will earn a grand prize of BGN 2,000. The public can attend all screenings for free.
The organizers said that DOCK's mission is to become one of the most valuable cultural events in Bulgaria, contributing to the exploration of world history in a memorable way.
Producers, directors, and screenwriters from across the world will be guests at the festival. The jury will be chaired by Greek filmmaker Maria Douza, who has directed The Tree and the Swing and Listen, among others. She has won numerous international awards and has worked on dozens of documentaries, cultural, and feature film productions.
Another member of the jury, Bulgarian film director, animator and illustrator Vladimir Todorov, has worked on hit productions such as Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Stuart Little, The Polar Express, Beowulf, and A Christmas Carol, as well as the Academy Award winning The ChubbChubbs.
