A festival with the French title Sacrée femme (Amazing Woman) will take place in the village of Vetren, on the Danube River in Bulgaria’s northeastern Silistra Region from August 1 to 3. It is organized by Emmanuelle Kaltcheva-Djaima, a Bulgarian-French singer, violinist and actress, who broke the news to BTA on Tuesday.

According to Djaima, the festival is aimed at celebrating femininity in all its shades. It is intended as an inner journey and a space where participants can engage in inspiring artistic workshops designed to help them rediscover, heal, and strengthen their feminine energy, express their emotions freely, and find their inner strength.

The programme includes creative workshops, puppet shows, re-enactments of traditional folk customs, and concerts by Djaima herself and folk singer Lina Topal.

Emmanuelle Kaltcheva-Djaima graduated from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in Sofia before moving to France. After nearly thirty years in Paris, she relocated to Cairo during the COVID pandemic, where she began teaching music at an international school.

In the Egyptian capital, Djaima took part in the Cairo International Jazz Festival, performing with its founder Amro Salah, jazz legend Yehya Khalil, and groups such as Accordeonella, Virus, and others.
