site.btaBulgarian Documentary "Ahab Was Here" Selected for Independent Cinema Festival in Cannes

The Bulgarian documentary Ahab Was Here: Reflections on Moby Dick has been included in the official selection of Cannes World Film Festival: Remember the Future. This is the first significant cinema achievement of Shoot! Productions and director Todor "Tosh" Lichev, the production's team said.

The documentary film presents the creation and stage performance of the Moby Dick play at Sofia's Ivan Vazov National Theatre, using innovative storytelling techniques to blur the lines between literature, theatre, and cinema. The film stars Diana Dobreva, Alexander Sekulov, Petya Dimanova, Mira Kalanova, Marina Raychinova, Yavor Karagitliev, Hristo Petkov, Vladimir Penev, Joreta Nikolova as well as the theatre play's team.

After its debut in Cannes, Ahab Was Here will return to Bulgaria for an official premiere in November 2025.
