More than 225 films from 62 countries will be presented during the 21st International Festival of Red Cross and Health Films in Varna, organizers from the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) and the Medical University (MU) – Varna announced at a press conference here on Friday. The festival will take place from June 12 to 20 and will mark the 60th anniversary of the event.

Present at the press conference were Festival Director Iliya Raev, MU-Varna Rector Dimitar Raikov, jury member Kamen Balkanski, organizing committee member Bilyana Raeva, and Vice President Iliana Iotova, who is the festival’s patron.

A special evening during the festival will be dedicated to the themes of volunteering, charity, and organ donation.

The programme includes a screening of Nothing Can Stop You, a film featuring Vladislav Nikolov, known for his participation in the I Believe and Help campaign, Raeva said.

The festival will feature titles from countries such as Bulgaria, Spain, Iran, France, and the United States, as well as from less represented nations like Tajikistan and Zimbabwe. Many of the selected films have been shown at international festivals, with some receiving awards, Balkanski noted.

All events will be held at the Festival and Congress Centre in Varna.
