The Mission Gallery at the Foreign Ministry's State Institute for Culture (SIC) will host the solo exhibition Haute couture – Haute soudure (High Fashion - High Welding) by the world-renowned Bulgarian-French sculptor Zhivko Sedlarski. The exhibition will take place from September 16 to October 4 and will feature the latest works of the artist known for his unique sculptures that unite the art of fashion with the craftsmanship of sculpture, SIC said on Tuesday.

Sedlarski is nicknamed "the Knight of the Steel Ladies" for his sculptures, which represent "fashion that isn't worn."

The exhibition "Haute couture - Haute soudure" is an expression of Sedlarski's long-term research on the subject of women as a symbol and source of energy, form and grace. Inspired by the fashion shows in Paris, Milan and New York, the artist creates sculptures that are not only objects of art, but also symbols of the dualistic nature of women - both tender and strong, warlike and delicate. Sedlarski's works are distinguished by their refined minimalism and a sense of kineticism. The sculptures are created from various materials such as metal, resin, copper, wood, bronze and granite, which complement and correspond to each other, creating a richness of images and a sense of wholeness.

The exhibition will be opened by art critic Boris Danailov. During the opening, the premiere of the trilingual album about Zhivko Sedlarski - Haute couture / Haute soudure, Zhivko Sedlarski, ART - will take place.

The event is realized in partnership with the Embassy of France in Bulgaria and the French Institute. Bulgarian News Agency is a media partner.
