Changing ministers when governments change should not affect the implementation of the successful ministerial policies established, newly appointed caretaker Minister of Culture Nayden Todorov told journalists during his visit to Burgas. “I hope that what we will be doing in the next two or three months will be continued by the next Minister of Culture,” he added.

In the seaside city, Todorov attended the opening of the annual exhibition of the students of Advertising Graphics and Stage Costume at the National School of Music and Performing Arts "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov", which opened Tuesday evening in the hall of the Society of Artists of Burgas.

Some of the priorities that Naydenov has set for himself in his term of office are related to the changes in the law on the protection and development of culture and the necessary regulatory changes for their entry into force and effective implementation.

Another important task ahead of him will be the improvement of the work of the National Culture Fund, which, he said, currently has an excellent board of directors.

"When we are talking about a caretaker government, we can hardly talk about creating new policies. What we need to do is to preserve what exists and help it move forward," the minister said.

Todorov's visit to Burgas is the first outside Sofia that he is making as Caretaker Minister of Culture in the current Cabinet.

He also commented that Burgas rightly has the reputation of a cultural city, which is also home to one of the best operas in the country. "In general, most cities in the country suffer from a lack of spaces for stage performances, and Burgas has more than enough of them," he added.
