Georgi Gospodinov's novel Time Shelter is on the long list of nominations for the Dublin Literary Award, Gospodinov's publisher Janet 45 said Monday.

Time Shelter was translated in English by Angela Rodel and was published in the UK by the London publishing house W&N.

Nominations for the Dublin Literary Award are made by libraries from all over the world. Time Shelter was nominated by the Sofia City Library.

Authors from 31 countries, including Bulgaria, are on the long list of nominations. On the long list are 29 translated novels from all continents. Georgi Gospodinov is on the list in the company of Jonathan Franzen, Elif Shafak, Colm Toibin, Karl Ove Knausgaard and Hervé Le Tellier, among others.

The names of the shortlisted writers will be announced on 28 March and the winner will be named on 25 May at the Dublin International Literary Festival.

The Dublin Literary Award was established in 1996. It accepts nominations of English-language writers as well as authors writing in other languages and translated into English. The award has a purse of EUR 100,000, making it the largest prize given for literature in the English-speaking world, said Janet 45. Previous winners of the award include Orhan Pamuk, Michel Houellebecq, Javier Marías and Herta Müller.

In 2016, Georgi Gospodinov was on the long list for the award with his novel The Physics of Sorrow
