site.btaVictor Popov's Latest Art Exhibition to Present West-East Synthesis in Sofia

Artist Victor Popov's upcoming solo exhibition in Sofia will present the synthesis between the West and the East, between motion and silence. Titled, "The Waterfall of the Nine Dragons", the exhibition will be on display at the DOM concept space from November 11 to 28, the organizers said.

This is the artist's tenth solo exhibition, in which he explores the tension between contemplation and the accelerated pace of modern life. The title refers to a real place in the Chinese province of Anhui - a waterfall in the Yellow Mountain, shrouded in legends of nine immortal dragons, the organizers noted. 

Popov's life and creative years in Beijing have had a strong influence on his visual aesthetics and philosophy. He himself says that China has taught him two most important qualities – patience and contemplation, without which he would not be able to create.

Victor Popov is a Bulgarian cinematographer and photographer who began his artistic journey after being invited by violinist Vasko Vassilev to participate in a music project in Beijing. Popov stayed there and developed his own visual language, inspired by the traditions and materials of the East.
