Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov is on an official visit to Montenegro on Monday and Tuesday, the Council of Ministers press office said. Zhelyazkov will meet with Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajic and President Jakov Milatovic.

Two bilateral cooperation documents are scheduled to be signed on Monday. Zhelyazkov and Spajic will sign an agreement on scientific and technological cooperation. The transport ministers of the two countries, Grozdan Karadjov and Maja Vukicevic, will sign a joint declaration expressing their intention to establish a direct air link between the capitals Sofia and Podgorica.

To mark the anniversary of the Unification, Zhelyazkov will unveil a bust monument of Prince Alexander I Battenberg at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Montenegro. One of the prince’s greatest contributions to the Bulgarian people was the Unification of the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia, the 140th anniversary of which is being commemorated this year.

Zhelyazkov will also deliver a public lecture to university students.

The official delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadjov, Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh, and Health Minister Silvi Kirilov, who will hold meetings with their Montenegrin counterparts.
