A Lufthansa aircraft that took off from Sofia, made an emergency landing in Belgrade Friday after the pilots reported seeing smoke in the cockpit, the Air Traffic Control Authority told BTA.

The plane was bound for Frankfurt, and the pilots reported the smoke while the aircraft was in Romanian airspace. The decision to perform the emergency landing at Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport was made by the flight crew.
