Members of Parliament are gathering for the first sitting of the autumn session. MPs were on recess from August 1 to 31.
Traditionally, the session is expected to begin with statements from the parliamentary groups outlining their priorities for the new political season.
Wednesday’s draft agenda includes several proposals from parliamentary groups.
Velichie proposes that the National Assembly begin the session by voting on a draft decision to hold a national referendum on keeping the Bulgarian lev as the country’s sole official currency until 2043.
GERB-UDF has proposed that MPs review a draft resolution on taking urgent measures to address Bulgaria’s water crisis, submitted jointly with lawmakers from MRF - New Beginning and the ruling coalition.
Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria has tabled a draft resolution related to the report of the ad-hoc parliamentary committee on water shortage in the country.
The Bulgarian Socialist Party - United Left (BSP - United Left) has tabled for first reading a bill amending the Law on Student and Doctoral Loans.
