Border Police Officers provided assistance to an illegal immigrant with a broken leg near Sredets, the Border Police said on Tuesday.
The officers found a foreigner without identity documents near the border, who introduced himself as a Moroccan citizen and complained of severe pain in his right leg. After the arrival of a medical team, the foreigner was transported to a hospital, where he was diagnosed with a fracture of the right lower leg.
The officers established that the Moroccan had entered the country illegally near the village of Belevren. An order for his detention was issued.
Also on Monday, an Italian citizen informed the police of five immigrants, who needed medical assistance in the area of the village of Izgrev near Tsarevo. Officers from the Border Police were sent out and found three Italian citizens and five illegal male immigrants without identity documents, who were however in good physical condition and did not need emergency assistance.
The Italian citizens and the illegal migrants were detained at the Tsarevo Police Station, where they were medically examined. Fast-track proceedings for illegal border crossings were initiated.
