  • Traffic was heavy at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint with Turkiye for inbound cars and at the Kalotina checkpoint on the border with Serbia for outbound cars, the Border Police said on Friday.

Traffic at the Stanke Lisichkovo checkpoint on the border with the Republic of North Macedonia was restored in both directions. Traffic was normal at the other border crossing points with North Macedonia.

On August 22, the ferry service at the Oryahovo-Bechet crossing on the border with Romania was suspended due to low water levels on the Danube.

Renovation works on the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge at Ruse continued, and traffic there was limited to one lane, regulated by the contractor’s staff. Traffic was normal at the other crossings with Romania.

At the border with Greece, construction works continued on the Rudozem-Xanthi route. The authorities placed signs indicating that the area was a construction site and barred unauthorized access.

The Zlatograd-Xanthi road was closed on the Greek side until September 13, 2025, for repairs. Drivers were advised to pass through Makaza.
