The Bulgarian Tourist Union (BTU) will organize a hike for hundreds of mountain lovers, starting from the Ivan Vazov National Theatre to Mt. Cherni Vrah, to celebrate 130 years of organized tourism in Bulgaria. The trail is inspired by the route which Aleko Konstantinov took 130 years ago, when he initiated organized tourism in Bulgaria, BTU said on Monday.

The anniversary celebrations will take place from August 27 to 31 in Sofia and on Vitosha Mountain and will combine commemorative ceremonies, processions, sports competitions and concerts. The celebration will begin on August 27 with a ceremonial laying of flowers at 5:30 p.m. at the memorial plaque in front of the Ivan Vazov National Theatre.

On August 30, a concert with the participation of Desi Dobreva and Diana Express will take place in the evening in front of the National Palace of Culture. On August 31, the Vitosha Run 2025 will start at the same place and finish on Mt. Cherni Vrah.
