site.btaGovernment Replaces Representative of Pharmaceutical Industry in Transparency Commission under Medicinal Products Act


The Council of Ministers Wednesday adopted a decision to change the composition of the Transparency Commission under the Medicinal Products in Human Medicine Act, the Government Information Service reported. Deyan Denev is appointed to replace Dr Evgeni Tasovski as a representative of the pharmaceutical industry.
Denev is Executive Director of the Association of Research-based Pharmaceutical Manufacturers in Bulgaria. He graduated in law from the St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia. He is an expert in Bulgarian and European pharmaceutical legislation and drug policy. He has more than 20 years of experience in the field of regulation, pricing and reimbursement of medicinal products.
Denev was a member of the Transparency Commission as a representative of the pharmaceutical industry from 2008 to 2013 and represented the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria on the Supervisory Board of the National Health Insurance Fund from January 2014 to January 2015. He is also co-chair of the Task Force for Central and Eastern Europe of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations and a Board member of the Bulgarian Medicines Verification Organization. He is fluent in English.
