During the national exercise with international participation "Breeze 2025," the naval tactical group for special operations will be certified according to NATO standards, announced Rear Admiral Kiril Mihaylov, commander of the Bulgarian Navy, at a press conference in Varna, on the Black Sea, on Sunday.
He specified that the certification will be carried out by a joint NATO and Navy command group. The certification process is being monitored by NATO representatives from the Alliance's special forces command.

The commander also announced that 14 countries, including Bulgaria, and over 1,500 personnel are participating in Breeze 2025. Eighteen vessels, ships and boats, 14 of which belong to the Bulgarian Navy, will take part in the exercise. Due to the conflict in the Black Sea and the Montreux Convention, the vessels are only from countries in the Black Sea basin.
Aircraft from the Turkish and US maritime patrol aviation, as well as a helicopter from the Romanian Navy, will also participate in the exercise. The Bulgarian Air Force will also participate with aircraft.
Representatives of four ministries and 28 organizations will also take part in the exercise. Once again, the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) will participate.
Rear Admiral Mihaylov said that this year's exercise is taking place in a complex environment of military conflict very close to Bulgaria. "The exercise is not directed against any specific enemy, but is based on a fictitious scenario," the commander said.
During the exercise, objectives and tasks for improving operational compatibility will be worked out. The day for high-ranking guests at Breeze 2025 will be July 18 (Friday).
Mihaylov said that for the second time, the Mine Countermeasures Group in the Black Sea (MCM BLACK SEA) will participate in Breeze.
