Three no-confidence motions in six months is a diagnosis not for the government but for the opposition, said Toma Bikov from GERB-UDF during the debates on the vote of no confidence in Rosen Zhelyazkov’s government tabled by Vazrazhdane for inadequate fiscal policy.

According to Bikov, this will be the third failed attempt to bring down the government.

“Today's debate is no different from the debates held in this chamber on a wide variety of issues. It is not significant because when you constantly introduce votes of no confidence, they become part of everyday life,” Bikov added.

“I believe that the current government is managing to calm the situation, stabilise the institutions and get things back on track. Six months is not enough time to repair the damage done to Bulgaria's institutions over the last four years. The only thing that has been happening, rhythmically and consistently, is the destruction of the institutional structure of the state and the destruction of trust in institutions,” Bikov pointed out.
