The parliamentary group Velichie announced it will submit a fourth motion for a vote of no confidence against the government of Rosen Zhelyazkov next week - this time over the government’s failure to address what the sponsors call "Bulgaria’s environmental crisis". The move will only proceed if the third vote, which will be over the Cabinet's fiscal policy and is scheduled for Friday, is unsuccessful.

Party leader Ivelin Mihaylov stated that the country is overwhelmed by over 60,000 illegal landfills, describing them as “bubbling and rotting in 40-degree heat,” while accusing the government of inaction and incompetence.

The motion has been co-signed by the parties Vazrazhdane and MECh. Mihaylov noted that Velichie supported Vazrazhdane’s earlier vote, and now the support has been reciprocated.

He also criticized a presumed alignment between MPs from Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria, GERB, and MRF - New Beginning, suggesting that former Prime Minister Kiril Petkov’s resignation has opened the door for political consolidation between these groups.

Mihaylov rejected claims that repeated no-confidence motions are a waste of time, insisting they serve a real political purpose.
