A total of 366 foreign students have enrolled at the New Bulgarian University (NBU) in Sofia, the press centre of the university told BTA on Wednesday.
Foreign students at NBU come from a total of 56 countries and five continents. They show great interest in programmes such as Psychology, Administration and Management, and Political Science.
The university pointed out that it offers programmes in Bulgarian and foreign languages, including International Relations and Public Administration in French. NBU also offers Neuropsychology as joint programme with the University of York. After the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a slight increase in applicants to NBU from abroad, the university noted.
Although the more affordable tuition fees is an important factor, foreign students are also looking for quality of education, modern facilities, a good academic reputation and opportunities for development, NBU emphasized. Real interest comes when education offers quality, perspective and a supportive academic environment, the university concluded.
