A total of 181 foreign students are enrolled at the Forestry University in Sofia, with 134 of them coming from EU countries, Boryana Tepelieva, head of the Education Activity Division at the University said on Wednesday.
Foreign students at the university come from 25 countries from three continents, including from Great Britain, the Czechia, Germany, Spain, France, Greece and Ireland. A total of 158 of them are enrolled in Veterinary Medicine, with education conducted in English. Students are also enrolled in Forestry, Wood and Furniture Technology and Landscape Architecture, as well as in Engineering Design and Ecology and Environmental Protection, Tepelieva pointed out.
She noted that the interest of foreign students at the Forestry University in Sofia has fluctuated within sustainable limits In recent years and stands at about 200 students per year, adding that they are attracted not only by the tuition fees, but also by the quality of the education received.
In May, the Forestry University in Sofia celebrated 100 years of higher forestry education in Bulgaria.
