At its regular meeting on Wednesday, the Cabinet approved a draft air services agreement between Bulgaria and Mongolia as a basis for negotiations. There are currently no direct scheduled air services between the two countries, the Government Information Service said. The draft agreement aims to establish the necessary legal framework for bilateral cooperation in air transport. It is expected to boost passenger and cargo traffic, lower airfares on air routes with genuine competition, increase from air transport-related infrastructure, and support the tourism sector.
Also on Wednesday, the Council of Ministers approved a draft agreement on international carriage of passengers and cargo by road between Bulgaria and Mongolia. This marks the first agreement in the field of road transport between the two countries and is intended to close an existing regulatory gap. The agreement will allow for the exchange of permits for international road transport.
