site.btaMPs Elect Deputy Chairs of Financial Supervision Commission


MPs elected three deputy chairs of the Financial Supervision Commission (FSC). They were nominated by FCS Chair Vasil Golemanski.
Parliament decided that Denitsa Velichkova will be the deputy chair heading the Investment Supervision Department of the Financial Supervision Commission. She received 120 votes in favour, 53 votes against and 13 deputies abstained.
Diana Yordanova remained in the position of deputy chair heading the Insurance Supervision Department. A total of 122 MPs voted for her, 56 were against, 12 abstained.
Plamen Danailov took the post of deputy chair heading the Insurance Supervision Department of the Financial Supervision Commission. He received 121 votes in favour, 55 deputies abstained, 16 were against.
The newly elected deputy chairs took the oath before the National Assembly.
Diana Yordanova is the current Deputy Chair of the FSC, heading the Social Security Supervision Department and acting as the Deputy Chair of the FSC, heading the Insurance Supervision Department. Denitsa Velichkova has over 25 years of professional experience in the legal field, and for the past six years has been the Secretary General of the FSC. Plamen Danailov has over 22 years of experience in the field of finance and administrative experience in state and municipal administration.
When presenting her concept to the FSC Budget Committee for Development, Denitsa Velichkova said that the main directions for the development of the Bulgarian financial market should be increasing efficiency, ensuring the possibility of financing new companies through the capital market, accelerating economic growth in the medium term, and better positioning Bulgaria on the investment map of Europe.
Diana Yordanova noted the importance of having a clear and lasting regulatory framework that would facilitate the sustainable development of the pension system in the country.
Plamen Danailov stressed that his priorities are related to building a modern regulatory environment and implementing all legal and regulatory requirements. In this regard, he recalled that a bill to amend the Insurance Code has been submitted to the National Assembly, expressing hope that it will reach the floor as soon as possible.
