Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) MP Krasimir Manov said on Wednesday that MECh MPs will attempt a citizen’s arrest of former caretaker energy minister Vladimir Malinov and said that the ex-minister signed both the Chiren underground gas storage expansion procurement and the Botash transit contract, which Manov claims is costing Bulgaria BGN 1.05 million a day.

"Your actions are not in the interest of the people, as you promised when you became ministers and MPs," Manov said. He urged the ruling coalition to act, warning that MECh would do so if it did not.

He accused Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF)-New Beginning Leader Delyan Peevski of steering Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov’s cabinet.

"The symbol of corruption, [MRF-New Beginning leader] Peevski, owns the government. It is time to wake up, because Peevski’s government ship, captained by Rosen Zhelyazkov, is sinking. The political world is wide and deep, with many chances to go under. There is only one seat in the lifeboat, and even the rats are the first to escape. This corrupt government must resign," Manov said.
