site.btaQuake Shakes Yambol in Southern Bulgaria


An earthquake was felt in the southern Bulgarian town of Yambol at 12:50 on Wednesday noon. It felt like three waves. Local people on the higher floors of residential buildings told BTA they were really scared.
It was one of several quakes epicentred in Turkiye, with the strongest of them of a 6.3 on the Richter scale.
Yambol last had a quake in November 2024. It was a mild one, or 2.6 on the Richter scale and the epicentre was in the nearby village of Bezmer.
