Money for assisted reproduction in the 2025 budget has been nearly doubled, said Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev before the start of Wednesday's regular government meeting.
He assured that there are funds for assisted reproduction, which will be explained later at a news briefing by Finance Minister Lyudmila Petkova and Health Minister Valya Kondeva. Anyone who understands budget procedure knows that unspent money should be either returned at the end of the year in the budget or reallocated, Glavchev said.
On Tuesday Minister Kondeva said that there are enough funds for assisted reproduction and that work has begun on changing the criteria for funding donor procedures.
Under a ministerial decree gazetted in November the budget for assisted reproduction in 2025 was reduced by BGN 2 million, with the funds being redirected to the budget of the State Agriculture Fund to support farmers.
